Notes:
Untitled Intro
As Nazi Germany effectively dismantled the democratic Weimar Constitution through a series of decrees and laws, the Reich was left without a genuine legal basis. There are records indicating that Hitler had various post-war plans concerning this issue.
Chapter: "Elser"
Elser followed this determined method to chip away screed from a support column over many nights.
I don’t know whether he used methamphetamine (Brand: Pervitin), which was legal and could be bought in drugstores by anybody until 1941.
Chapter: "Arrival in Munich."
This actually happened on the 8th of November too. According to Hitler's official photographer Heinrich Hoffmann, "fangirl" Unity Mitford ate her honorary badge in front of the “Führer” in a hospital. Hitler still paid her bills until she was transferred back to the Isles where she died im 48.
I wasn't able to determine which Hospital it was. I made a very plausible choice.
Chapter: "Strudel at late afternoon."
Hitler often dined in the Osteria Bavaria as this was his favorite restaurant. I couldn't find out, but it seems plausible that he would visit his "Stammplatz". Today, one would find an Italian restaurant in its place.
Chapter: "20:20"
The rain forced Hitler to leave early, missing the explosion by 13 minutes (according to some estimates).
Chapter: "21:20"
Goebbels was a notorious sex addict who would go to great lengths to fulfill his desires. Despite being disabled with a clubfoot, he pretended that his injury was from a World War I wound. His numerous infidelities and scandals forced Hitler to intervene when his wife, Magda, threatened to leave him.
I am aware that, given the construction of the Bürgerbräukeller, a bomb explosion would not have penetrated rooms like that. However, the damage caused the structure to crumble.
